Because of your support, in 2025, ElderCARE served 969 older adults and fulfilled 97% of all service requests. Our volunteers and vendors provided 2,551 service visits and 6,540 hours of service, including 1,567 medical transportation rides, 224 grocery deliveries, 169 friendly visits, 344 reassurance calls, and 214 technology assistance sessions. These are not simply services, they are lifelines that make independence and well-being possible. (See our full Annual Report here.)

Federal budget cuts put this critical work at risk. We’ve heard from several funders that they are receiving more funding requests due to these federal budget changes, and have decided to give ElderCARE less this year. What does this mean for ElderCARE? We anticipate a $50,000 gap in funding in 2026 and we need your support to assure older adults across Lake County that they are not facing aging alone.

The need continues to grow. More older adults in our community are living alone, managing chronic health conditions, and facing barriers to transportation, food, and connection. Without support, these challenges can quickly lead to missed medical care, declining health, and isolation. But together, we are meeting that need. Each ride to a medical appointment ensures continuity of care. Each grocery delivery provides nourishment and peace of mind. Each visit or phone call reminds someone they are not alone.
