Areas of Practice

transportation

At a typical visit to provide transportation, an ElderCARE volunteer escorts you to their vehicle, takes you to your medical appointment, and returns you back home. ElderCARE also assists with drop-off and pick-up from lengthy appointments, such as dialysis.

grocery shopping

Do you need assistance getting to your grocery store? Access to healthy food is important. Through ElderCARE grocery shopping service, volunteers take your grocery list and make the trip to the store for you. You pay for the groceries, and the service is free.

friendly visit/phone call

Living alone can be challenging, especially when it’s tough to get out and interact with others. ElderCARE’s friendly visits services provides an opportunity for you to develop lasting friendships over a cup of tea or a game. You and your volunteer set a schedule that works for both of you.

technology assistance

Navigating technology can be frustrating—especially when you're trying to stay connected with loved ones or access important information. ElderCARE’s Technology Assistance Program is here to help older adults who are having difficulty using their electronic devices. Our friendly technology specialist provides one-on-one home visits to troubleshoot issues and teach you how to confidently use your phone, tablet, computer, and more. Whether it's learning to send a text, join a video call, or manage emails, we work at your pace to make technology less intimidating and more empowering.
